About Arco String Quartet
Founded in Belfast in 2003, Arco String Quartet was formed when husband and wife Clare and Richard Hadwen met whilst members of The Ulster Orchestra. Since their formation the Quartet has firmly established themselves in the Northern Ireland music industry. The Quartet’s versatile sound, friendly attitude and artistic excellence continues to push the boundaries of its art, specialising in the arrangement and performance of all music genres, particularly rock and pop. Their very own string arrangements, as well as collaborations with other leading Irish composers and arrangers has led to them recording and performing with many outstanding internationally celebrated artists. Recent highlights include Snow Patrol, Liam Gallagher, Foy Vance, And So I Watch You From Afar, Duke Special, Villagers, Beoga, David C Clements, SOAK and The Darkling Air. The Quartet’s recording output includes works for the BBC, RTE, Channel 5 and many film and TV scores. They enjoy a varied schedule, dividing their time between the recording studio and the concert platform, as well as performing at private events. You can currently see them performing chamber music concerts regularly through the Fever Candlelight Concert series.
