Exhibitions

Flowerfield Arts Centre presents a selected retrospective exhibition of work by the renowned Coleraine-born artist John Johnson (1957 – 2019).

A self-taught painter with no formal training, John felt compelled by a sense of wonder to record the world around him developing a unique visual style and an original and refreshing approach to ‘seeing things’.

His first love was the Causeway Coast, yet he also travelled widely - we are given beautiful glimpses of the South of France, in particular, Saint Paul de Vence. We also catch the stark reality of ‘The Troubles’ via his riot shield paintings and we are lifted by his mesmerising ‘Altnagelvin - Hill of Sparrow Paintings’.

A Space for Creativity and Connection

Flowerfield Arts Centre introduces "Mums Meet and Make," a creative series designed for new mothers with infants under one-year-old. These workshops provide an opportunity to combat isolation, foster community, and spark creativity, all while allowing mothers to enjoy much-needed "me time."

As well as this series we have packed programmes of creative workshops for adults and children, in fused glass, ceramics, painting, movement, and textiles, including some workshops with a festival flavour as we head towards Christmas.

Dive into the Halloween spirit with a family screening of Hotel Transylvania followed by creepy craft workshops, spooky storytelling, and even a monster mash dance workshop with Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company.

As the festive cheer fills the air, mark your calendars for the Christmas Craft Market (11 November – 21 December), presenting exquisite pieces crafted by artisans from the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough. We invite you to join us from 10am on Saturday 11th November for the official launch of the market with festive music and drop-in arts activities for kids. Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market will also be here with hot food treats and even more special gifts.
