Race Week Activities at Flowerfield Arts Centre Celebrate Briggs Equipment North West 200

As the excitement builds for the Briggs Equipment International North West 200, Flowerfield Arts Centre is proud to host a series of special events celebrating the thrill of road racing. Among these events is a screening of the acclaimed documentary Road on Tuesday 7 May, and a captivating performance by My Darling Clementine on Friday 10 May.

Road, narrated by the renowned Liam Neeson, brings to life the dramatic and poignant story of the Dunlop family from Northern Ireland. For over thirty years, this family has not only dominated road racing but has also been united by both success and tragedy. Directed by Michael Hewitt & Dermot Lavery, this 2014 documentary is a must-see for all fans of two-wheeled mayhem and those who appreciate powerful storytelling.

Following this compelling documentary, Flowerfield Arts Centre is thrilled to present My Darling Clementine on Friday 10 May. This dynamic duo, comprised of Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish, brings a unique blend of classic country duets from the 60s and 70s to life. Their music, described as heart-on-sleeve songcraft with heavenly harmonies, has garnered praise and accolades worldwide.

My Darling Clementine's journey in the music world has been one of creativity and collaboration. From their debut album "How Do You Plead?" to their latest release "Country Darkness," a collaboration with keyboard genius Steve Nieve, their evolution has been met with critical acclaim and chart success.

"MDC mix country gloom with excellent musicianship and very fine songs," says The Guardian. Mojo praises King and Dalgleish, stating they "have re-invented the country duet," while the New York Daily News hails them as creators of "one of the most exquisitely pained country albums of the year."

The live show by My Darling Clementine promises an unforgettable experience, featuring songs from their extensive catalogue, including Costello covers, tracks from Michael's solo album 'The Struggle,' and previews of their forthcoming new album.

Join us at Flowerfield Arts Centre for an exhilarating celebration of road racing and music during the Briggs Equipment North West 200 week. With the roads open, travelling to the venue will be a breeze, ensuring you don't miss out on these incredible events.
