Celebrating the Success of Mums Meet and Make: Creative Workshops for Connection and Community

In September 2023 we started a new series called Mums Meet and Make and as we reach the end of our first season we want to recap on the success of this series and the wonderful feedback we’ve received.

Motherhood is a beautiful journey but can also be challenging and isolating at times and Mums Meet and Make was designed to help combat this isolation and create an opportunity for new parents to connect, share experiences and lift each other up through creative workshops. Our workshops provide mums with a safe space to express themselves and cultivate their confidence and self worth

An absolutely fantastic day!! We came all the way from Belfast just to do it and would again! We felt so welcome and we had a brilliant time!!'
‘I really had a fantastic morning and would like to Thankyou the centre and the tutors/teachers for making me and my little baby girl so welcome!’

We’ve held workshops in pottery, painting, creative writing and crafting and are looking forward to our first Mums yoga session at Flowerfield to celebrate the summer solstice. We’ve loved meeting all the mums and their little ones and creating a fun and enjoyable environment for them to create art with their little ones by their sides.

‘It was just lovely to do something crafty and chat to other mums’

Many of the mums attending have told us how they are revisiting creative practices that they loved before becoming mothers and we are delighted to create the space for them to do this. These inclusive workshops are open to all mums regardless of their artistic background, we have wonderful tutors who offer guidance support and encouragement as the mums create.

‘I have attended the pottery and watercolour - both were massively out of my comfort zone but loved them both!’
‘Please keep doing these classes! We are really enjoying them and the coffee / buns / scones after are a complete added bonus! :) Thank you’
