Join us for a FREE exhibition tour of Mujeres Disruptivas / Disruptive Women with Curator Roberta Bacic and guests Pilar Lopez and Manoli Gonzalez from Catalonia on Friday 28th May between 1-2pm.

We are delighted to welcome some of the talented women who created the arpilleras in this exhibition to Flowerfield on Friday 28th April. These women are visiting from Catalonia and we invite you to join us for a guided tour of the Disruptive Women exhibition between 1-2pm.

Mujeres Disruptivas / Disruptive Women brings together many threads of connection. It marks the 15th anniversary of Conflict Textiles inaugural exhibition The Politics of Chilean Arpilleras (8th February 2008 - 19th April 2008). It builds on a ten year plus collaborative relationship with Fundació Ateneu Sant Roc which has progressed from exhibiting each other’s textiles to co-curated exhibitions such as ChildrensRights / DerechosdelNiño / DretsdelsInfants (2020 - 2021). Mujeres Disruptivas / Disruptive Women is the second co-curated exhibition and adds a new dimension to the Fundació Ateneu Sant Roc exhibition Mujeres Disruptivas / Disruptive Women (Badalona, 2019).

The exhibition takes place across three venues:

• Flowerfield Arts Centre, the location for Arpilleras that Cry Out (2009) will feature the bulk of the exhibition.

• A number of pieces will also be displayed within two Permanent rotating exhibition spaces Conflict Textiles collection: Magee Campus Library, Ulster University; and

• The Troubles and Beyond in Ulster Museum.

The Disruptive Women Exhibition will run until Sat 5th August and everyone is welcome for this guided tour on Friday 28th April.
