Join renowned award-winning artist and illustrator PJ Lynch in our gallery for an engaging and fun talk on his creative work, techniques and influences, coinciding with his stunning exhibition 'Pilgrims, Princesses and Beardy Old Men'.

All welcome, including kids aged 10+ and their grown-ups!

Over the last three decades, PJ Lynch has illustrated books by some of the greatest writers for children. His exhibition features illustrations included in ‘The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey’, recognised as one of the world’s best-selling books (soon to be released as a movie), to classics such as Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ right up to the recently published ‘The Boy Who Fell Off the Mayflower’, as well as PJ’s charcoal drawings for ‘Once Upon A Place’, a new anthology of stories by top Irish writers compiled by Eoin Colfer.

Born in Belfast in 1962, he attended Brighton College of Art where he was taught by Raymond Briggs, creator of ‘The Snowman’. PJ was honoured to be Laureate na nÓg (Ireland’s laureate for children’s literature) between 2016 and 2018 and has won many awards including the Kate Greenaway Medal on two occasions. Combining his original artwork with the power of story, his exhibition will enchant young and old alike and this talk is a unique opportunity for both children to get inspired and for adults interested in illustration and publishing to hear from a master of his craft.
