‘Slow sewing’ is a contemplative process and inherently imperfect, so no stress! It is the perfect way to explore your creativity and build confidence with a needle. Working with Helen Walshaw, you'll create something new from old, with your own unique hand stitching.

Make a vintage blanket cushion cover with this introduction to simple hand embroidery. Old and slightly felted blankets provide a tactile fabric to decorate with traditional embroidery stitches. Using a range of traditional ‘sampler’ style stitches, you’ll explore ways to give them a contemporary twist, through original combination and choice of thread, from silks to wools, for added texture and interest.
