The Rollercoaster of Love

A light-hearted look at romance from the Irish Actors Theatre Company

IATC
The Irish Actors Theatre Company – taking a light-hearted look at romance in 'Love, Passion and I'm Sorry I've Got a Headache' at Flowerfield Arts Centre on Friday April 9th.

IT'S BEEN A number of years since the Irish Actors Theatre Company graced the stage at Flowerfield Arts Centre – the troupe are back in Portstewart on Friday April 9th with a light-hearted and diverse look at romance, under the title 'Love Passion and I'm Sorry, I've Got a Headache'.

This musical comedy show takes a look at love as expressed down through the ages by famous and not-so-famous personalities in literature and music.

From Adam's first question: 'Eve, do you love me?' to Eve's answer: 'Adam, who else is there?', audiences will be taken on a rollercoaster of emotion in this newly-revised entertainment on one of the great themes.

The show is a kaleidoscope of feelings and reactions to love in its many different guises – sometimes hilarious, witty, sad, satirical, passionate – there's something there for everyone.

And as music is the food of love, there are many popular songs in the show. Authors quoted include Pam Ayres, The Bible, Christy Brown, Agatha Christie, Mick Jagger, Maya Angelou, Roger McGough, Anne Frank, Oscar Wilde, WB Yeats, Ogden Nash and many more.

The Irish Actors Theatre Company is a professional group of four actors musicians founded by Noel Cummins in 1984. For the past 25 years they have toured annually to Germany, Switzerland, France, Denmark and America. This year sees the company celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Each show is a mosaic of music, drama, storytelling and comedy.

Tickets for the show are now on sale, priced at £10, with an £8 concessionary rate, and they're available from reception at Flowerfield Arts Centre. The ticket price, as is customary at Flowerfield, includes a complimentary glass of wine or fruit juice at the interval.

You can also book your tickets by credit or debit card on (028) 7083 1400.
