Adult Class Enrolment for our Spring 2017 classes are now open.

Enrolment for Flowerfield Classes and Workshops: Now Open – Call us. 

Enrolling for classes and workshops couldn’t be easier at Flowerfield Arts Centre. Simply call into the Centre or ring the Receptionist and give your details and card payment by phone to enrol on the class or workshop of your choice. That’s it! 

Please be aware that if a place is not paid at the time of enrolment your name will only go onto the reserve list, and you may lose out to another paying customer. If the class you have enrolled in fails to reach its viable numbers, we unfortunately, are obliged to withdraw it but we will tell you in advance of the cancellation if this happens and remember you will get a full fee refund. 

We may also be adding some additional classes over the next few weeks to our programme, watch this site for details.

3D Printing 'Taster' Workshops with Charlie Smyth

 

Cost: £20 (each workshop offers the same content)

 

A workshop for those who want to start learning about 3D modelling and 3D printing. Learn basic 3D skills in this taster workshop working with exercises in small 3D printed objects, such as coasters, USB sticks and rings.

Max No. Students: 10 per class

HEY CLAY!Throwin' A Wobbly - Have A Go Day

 

Admission Free (Adults & Children aged 12 and over)

 

Come along to Flowerfield Arts Centre for some “wheelly” ripping fun. Have a go and throw some clay down on the potter’s wheel with potters Lorna, Malcolm and Adam on hand to help you make some shapes - absolutely no experience needed.
 
You can drop in on the day to watch but you need to book a place to have a go at throwing on the wheel.
 
This is a clay working day only, you can’t take anything away just fun, laughter and happy memories. (Wear old clothes & closed shoes are best). 
 
Suitable For: Adults & Children aged 12 years and over. 

 

 


 

Basic Sewing Skills for Absolute Beginners

Saturday 29th April 10.30am-4pm

Cost £25

One day workshop packed full of sewing tips and techniques for students of mixed abilities, Angie Kelly will show you how to get to grips with a sewing machine and learn the basic skills to get you going. Please note the men are welcome to enrol for this workshop as well as the girls! Bring your own sewing machine if you have one. Max No. Students: 8 per class. 
 
 

 

Basic Alterations

Saturday 27th May 10.30am-4pm

Cost £25

A “how to” one day workshop with Angie showing students the tips and techniques to tackle simple alterations to garments. Bring a garment that might need simple alteration if you like. The workshop is suitable for men and women of mixed abilities. Bring your own sewing machine if you have one. Max No. Students: 8 per class.
 
 

 

Make An Apron in a Day

Saturday 24th June 10.30am-4pm

Cost £25

Print with Passion 
 
Coming Soon ... One and Two Day Print Making Workshops

We own a beautiful a beautiful Intaglio Printing Press which members of the public can use. This year we are planning a series of workshops which will feature various techniques e.g. Monoprinting, Lino-cutting, Collograph, Drypoint and Salt Etching and sprinkled with some ‘Printing only’ days when students’ can use their own pre - prepared plates. Details are being finalised as we go to press. If you are interested, however, in signing up for more information, please contact us quoting “Printmaking” and leave your details with our receptionist as an expression of interest, and we will send you further details as soon as we can.

Kiln Formed Glass - Fusing & Slumping

Monday 20th March for six weeks

2pm-5pm or 6pm-9pm

Cost £105 full, £95 concession

[Ease the fee, Enrolment Fees can be paid prior to class in two instalments. Full: £50 & £55 or Concession: £40 & £45] 
 
Natasha Duddy’s class working in warm glass using Slumping & Fusing techniques, is suitable for all levels from the outright beginner to more experienced students. The fee covers the cost of firing & slumping, essential workshop materials Kiln Paper & Megatekta glass and tools, students should supply their own choice of coloured Bullseye glass which can be ordered on advice from the tutor, through the Centre. Max No. Students: 10 per class. 

 

Friday Art Club - Studio Day

Friday 7th April for ten weeks 10.30am-12.30pm

Cost £50

 

Designed for all comers, this is a painting club to share ideas, find inspiration, discuss techniques and enjoy a studio based painting day with other artists amateur or other. The fee is for room use only but other features which may benefit the artist may be offered. Coffee & Biscuits supplied. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Sewing with Angie
 
Monday 24th April for six weeks 7-9pm
 
Cost £45 full, £40 concession
 
Sewing tips and techniques for students of mixed abilities, Angie Kelly will show how to choose your fabric cut your patterns and make a garment. Ask for the “Starter Kit Check List” when enrolling for this class. Max No. Students: 12 per class.
 

 

Hablo Espanol - Conversational Spanish

Monday 24th April for six weeks 7pm-9pm
 
Cost £42 full, £36 concession

Get started with Spanish conversation, Victoria Olivan-Vinue will work through topics such as shopping, eating out, booking accommodation, etc. Students will be briskly guided through the language in a relaxed and friendly class - but homework is to be expected.

 
 

 

Painting for Pleasure at Flowerfield A Multi Medium Painting Class

 Wednesday 26th April for six weeks 7pm-9pm

Fee: £45 full, £33 concession

 

Designed for beginners and Improvers, Lorna Gough will teach technique and explore the mediums of watercolour, oils and acrylics to improve your painting skills. Bring any materials you have to the first class, advice will be given and beginners can come prepared ask about “Basic Equipment Check List” available on enrolment.

Creative Writing

Wednesday 26th April 7pm-9pm

Cost £48 full, £42 concession

 

It’s back! Creative writing with award winning novelist Bernie McGill (The Butterfly Cabinet) who will give tips and direction on writing techniques, style and form. Suitable for all levels.

 

 

 


 

Clay Days!

Tuesday 2nd May for six weeks 12noon-3pm

With Lorna Noble, you can make sculptural, hand built ceramics or learn to throw on the potter’s wheel. Techniques are demonstrated to help develop your skills. Beginners and all levels of experience are welcome! Materials - Clay and basic slips/stains supplied. Max No. Students: 12 per class.

 


 

Clay Evenings!

Tuesday 2nd May for six weeks 6pm-9pm      

Cost £85 full, £75 concession

Art Of Floristry

A popular structured class with Elaine Taylor, to suit students of all abilities, from those taking their first steps into Floristry, and for the more advanced there are new tips on technique and design to learn.  Ask for the “Starter Kit Check List” when enrolling for this class. Guitar Basics for Beginners

Saturday 13th May for six weeks 11am-12.30pm

Cost £60

Designed for Beginners. The course will cover the basics of chord construction and chord families in various keys, participants will also look at key changes. All of this will be covered in a friendly, no pressure way with each student developing at their own rate. Max No. Students: 12 per class
